Glow
in the Dark...
Yarn!...just the right weight to use as an accent in socks.
The sock at your left was designed using Sole
Solution (except for the heel, which is a future addition
to the program). This sock was knitted using GITW yarn,
Special Blauband and Baby Ull. I wish my camera could show
you how cool the sock looks in the dark! |

Salsa
Sox
Isn't
Opal Mexiko wild?? The pattern is continued down the heel
(for my clogs). I also included a shaped arch on this
one. |

Another
fun yarn...Opal Tiger! This is a Top Down sock with 3 x
1 rib, flap heel, standard toe designed with SS too. |

These
socks were an experiement in dying. The yarn was white Silja.
I used Country Classic acid dyes. |

Coat
Hanger Sock Blockers
- Really
easy and inexpensive! I used rubberized coat hangers from
Wal-Mart. Great for drying hand-knit socks when you aren't
comfortable putting them in the dryer. I hand shape the
coat hanger to the general shape of my sock then I insert
the hanger into a sock and finish shaping. The blocker
doesn't stretch the sock, it just gently holds it for
drying and photos!

Felted
Slipper Bottoms. Try
Plasti Dip Flexible Rubber Coating - Claims it won't crack,
chip or peel! Purchased from Home Depot.
I
used a paint brush and painted it on the bottoms and sides
(about 3/4") of the slippers. Please: No abuse on
the color or shape of these slippers<grin>! I am
really pleased with the Plasti-Dip. My slippers feel very
stable and the Plasti-Dip hasn't flaked or peeled. Unlike
some fabric paints, it is comfortable to walk on. |
